is exclusively designed by Go Motion Studios  and manufactured in Australia by ii box Designs .

ii box is a uniquely Australian and eco-friendly innovation and product used by:  Illustrators, Animators, Designers, Teachers, students – primary to Tertiary & Tafe,  Doctors, Artists in Schools, Design and Art Studios and at home.  

Just place the ii box on your table, desk or lap, plug it in,        

switch it on and away you draw!                                             

Background  Traditionally, flat, light boxes are used by photographers and angled light boxes used by Animators in Animation Studios. 

The original version of this light box was made from cardboard and Acrylic by Disney  Animator Ross Gathercole who was teaching exclusively some of the Cartooning,  Animation, and Illustration Courses at Go Motion Studios. After many trials and brainstorming sessions, the design team at Go Motion Studios came up with ii box - a light box with modern aesthetics in mind.                                                         

In our research we discovered that light boxes had never really been used by:  

Fashion, Graphic and Industrial Designers creating illustrations or sketches     

Teachers as a drawing tool to teach students drawing techniques using templates   

Students needing to learn drawing techniques for Animation, Cartooning and and Illustration                                                                                                   

Doctors needing to draw and sketch for their patients and/or view X-Rays                           

Arts and Crafts Artisans of scrap booking, fine sewing, embroidery, stencilling and more.

When we first introduced the ii box to a variety of schools, studios and Medical Clinics 2 years ago, everyone was excited. Illustrating, teaching and learning drawing techniques could not have been made easier or more convenient. After this initial trial, we received many requests for the  ii box so we decided to create an Australian Made, eco-friendly product accessible to just about everyone.   

Product info For those of us who appreciate sophisticated design, the ii box is both

stylish and streamlined and completely Australian Made. Made from sturdy Acrylic with a larger than usual drawing surface (440mm x 440 mm) and a white, powder-coated aluminium frame, the ii box is very comfortable to draw on and lightweight. The unit can also be placed on any flat surface and due to its unique rubber feet - will not move! Taking into consideration the time one spends drawing and to be kind to our environment, we light up the ii box with an eco -friendly, energy-saving, 10000hr globe.     

(The ii box has been safety tested and has received a Certificate of Electrical Approval).

Who is it designed for? The ii box is an extremely useful tool for just about anyone - Doctors, Illustrators, Animators, Designers, school students  – primary - adult, anyone

drawing in design and art studios or at home. The ii box is ideal for drawing cartoons, any kind of illustration or design, sketching and of course ideal for animation drawings using paper or cels.                                                                                                             

The ii box allows beginners to learn essential drawing skills using either templates or drawing guides. The first choice ii box lighting system creates an evenly distributed illumination beneath the paper, making it easy to see what you are doing and to learn correct techniques. Professionals needing to create essential key drawings and sketches will also appreciate the generous work surface, comfortable drawing angle, accessibility and portability of this innovative light box. 

Special  instructions  ADULTS ONLY. Please do not allow any child to access the internal electrical components of this unit. To replace the globe: Adults - quite simply, take the globe out of the wrapping, unscrew the door on the base of the unit (1 screw only) and carefully insert the globe into the socket at one end and into the support bracket close to the other end.  Replacement globes are $25 (incl. freight). Then peel off the protective brown paper, plug in the cord, switch it on and your ii box is ready for you to get creative!
